ORES is a Belgian electricity and natural gas distribution system operator in Wallonia. The company manages and maintains distribution networks and handles connections, meter readings, outage management and technical interventions. ORES is not an energy supplier, but an intermediary between producers, suppliers and end users. This makes ORES mainly relevant for households, self-employed professionals, businesses and local authorities connected to the distribution network and needing reliable access to energy infrastructure.
Here you can find an up-to-date product overview of ORES. Here you can already make an initial comparison between the ORES offerings. On the detail page of each product you will find all further features, promotions and detailed comparisons.
ORES operates across a large part of Wallonia and is responsible for managing electricity and natural gas distribution networks in many Walloon municipalities. The company also supports the integration of local generation, such as solar panels, and manages technical processes linked to connections and meters. As a distribution system operator, ORES does not sell energy contracts itself. Its role is to transport energy to homes and businesses and to maintain the network infrastructure.
Through its website, ORES offers several digital services, including submitting meter readings, requesting a connection, reporting a move and tracking requests. Customers can also find information about planned works, outages and smart meters. ORES also shares information about the energy transition, network modernisation and the integration of decentralised generation. This makes ORES suitable for people looking for practical network services in Wallonia rather than a commercial energy supplier.
