Octa+ Dynamic is a dynamic tariff. The consumption price per kWh therefore changes every 15 minutes or hour. We always make the best possible estimate of the annual price of each contract. We calculate this according to the expected energy prices for the next 12 months. But for a dynamic tariff, this is a long shot. So think of the simulation as a snapshot, rather than a forecast. By the way, changing market conditions or government decisions can also change prices. The price calculation is based on the published tariffs of october 2026.

With a dynamic energy contract, the price you pay per kWh fluctuates every hour (or sometimes even every 15 minutes), depending on the market price at the time. These prices are strongly influenced by supply and demand. On days with a lot of solar and wind energy, tariffs are usually lower, while they rise in colder weather.
The dynamic prices are published every day, so you can quickly see when it is best to consume electricity at the lowest rate.
How has the price of Octa+ Dynamic evolved over the past period? Has the price increased, or has the kwh price decreased? And how does Octa+ Dynamic compare with other tariffs in the market?
Keep in mind that Octa+ regularly gives discounts to new customers. As a result, their kWh price is often even more interesting than "standard price". The kWh prices in the chart are the standard prices without discounts.

Octa+ is a Belgian energy supplier offering electricity, natural gas and dual fuel plans for private customers and businesses. The company is also active in fuels and mobility services, which gives Octa+ a broader profile than a standard energy provider. Customers can combine their energy contracts and use digital tools to manage administration and follow their account. Octa+ is mainly suited to households, self-employed people and companies looking for a Belgian provider for electricity, gas, or both through one supplier.
Forewarned is forearmed. Octa+ Dynamic serves as the benchmark product in this comparison. In which areas does Octa+ Dynamic outperform other electricity only prices, and in which not so much?
An energy rate card summarises the most important information about an energy contract, such as the type of contract (fixed, variable or dynamic), the price per kWh, the fixed fee, any indexation formulas, duration and termination conditions. You will also find information on discounts, green electricity, injection tariffs for solar panels, network tariffs and an estimate of the annual cost. Here you will find an overview of all current and past rate cards of Octa+ Dynamic.

Below you will find answers to the most frequently asked questions about Octa+ Dynamic. Is your question not listed? Feel free to contact us.
Yes, Octa+ Dynamic is a dynamic tariff, i.e. the consumption price per kWh fluctuates every 15 minutes or every hour. The kWh price can therefore rise and fall throughout the term of your contract. However, the consumption price always follows the same market indexes using a fixed price formula. It is very important to have an installation that is smart with your consumption, by using a lot when the price is low and limiting your consumption when the price is high. In any case, you need a digital meter for this. You can find all the price information in the tariff sheets.
If you have solar panels (or other generators), and you have generated a surplus of energy, you will receive a feed-in compensation from supplier Octa+ for this. Better, however, is that you also use all the generated energy yourself, so that you yourself take less from the energy grid. Because even though you get a small fee for generated power, the price you get (c€9.96 /kWh) is much smaller than the power you buy (c€17.40 /kWh), and you also pay grid costs, taxes, excise duties, you name it.
When you switch suppliers, your new supplier Octa+ takes care of everything. They will contact both your local grid operator and your previous energy supplier. Your switch usually follows 30 days after your request, but you can also choose a switch date yourself up to 6 months in the future. If you have requested a new connection or move, Octa+ also takes care of everything, and then everything can be set up even faster.
Consumers are always entitled to a free cancellation period of 2 weeks after application. For this, you need to contact your new supplier yourself, or contact your current supplier and ask them to stop the switch. Business users are not entitled to 2 weeks' notice.
No, consumers in Belgium are still allowed to switch suppliers for free, and without giving any reason. You are not bound to a fixed contract duration. However, sometimes early termination means you lose your welcome discounts. We therefore advise you to remain a customer for at least one year before requesting an energy switch.
When the original contract term of 1 or 2 years is about to expire, Octa+ will notify you. In this, they will offer you a new contract proposal with the same or similar tariff plan. This is the moment you should definitely come and compare your energy contract again on DareToCompare.be.
Octa+ Dynamic is only available in Flanders & Wallonia, not in the other regions.
